about the school
Director Edith S. Gentry, a graduate of the nearby College of Notre Dame, established the Cedarcroft School in 1947 as "Cedarcroft Kindergarten", a preschool and kindergarten for young children. Before that time, she had also founded a school at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia to assist the children of military personnel.

Cedarcroft School, with its roots deep in the fabric of Baltimore, has helped several generations nurture a love for learning, and experience their early education in a superior setting. Now some of their children and grandchildren as well as new families enter our doors and begin their own adventures in learning. Cedarcroft School was the first accredited preschool program in Baltimore, Maryland.
Still a family run institution after 62 years, Cedarcroft School enjoys the accomplishments of its graduates while successfully preparing the next generation with a blend of well tested curriculum, experienced, caring staff and excellent facilities and programs. Our graduates have gone on to achieve great success in Baltimore's private, parochial and public school systems.
